Lala-Dolly Number Two

I'm making a couple more Lala-Dollys and figured I would share the finished products. This one was Made in the image of Crumble Sugar Cookie... She is not as good as I could have goten her provided I had a few other materials at my disposal... but I think with what I had and the fact that once again the patterns were beyond just slightly flawed... I did pretty darn good.

(I essentially had to rewrite a few parts of the doll pattern and TOTALLY rework the dress pattern. I feel like this pattern was not tested well prior to the selling of it and after NO response at all when I emailed the seller about another matter.... I'm highly disappointed and will never purchase from them again. oh well.)

So Where i did not have a white/yellow blend to make a more flannel looking pattern I stitched some pale yellow into the white of the dress. I did not have any yellow/white polka dot ribbon so I just used a couple of pale yellow chains to make the adornments for the waist and bow on the dress. The hair is not as tight on the curls as I would like (neither was the previous one) As this is the first couple times I have made curls I think I will try another method on the next one and see if i can get the results I want.

*Past* Creation and Story #1

Photobucket just about everything I make has a reason or story behind it. Some are happy some are sad. This one I remember well. (although the timeline escapes me) This teddy was created for a little angel baby named Belle. I was pregnant with my 4th or 5th little one and I was (for reasons unknown to me) reading through the loss boards on pregnancyweekly. I was very upset after one particular story where mom made it to erm but them went in and discovered baby without a heartbeat. She was then induced and made to deliver her baby that had already passed away. She had to struggle through the pain of birth ust to say good bye to her little girl that would never cry or take her first breath or say momma. My heart ached and broke a million times over both because of her story and my emotional state with being pregnant myself. I wanted and needed to do something for this momma. We chatted a little about her little girl and that she had her creamated and in an ABC block urn on her bedside table. I made her this teddy with an angel pendant and Belle's name across the tummy for her to have with the urn on her table. It was a labor of love and sympathy.

LaLa Dolly success :)

Dolly1 Dolly took me about 3-4 days worth of actual work (a week being that I have 6 kiddos lol) and was done following and tweaking a pattern I bought on Etsy that had some design flaws. she is not the same one from the pattern I bought ( hair is different) and I designed the clothes and bows myself after the lalaloopsy doll Mittens Fluff N Stuff. I think she came out very well and I'm quite proud of her :)

what do YOU think?
